Ngā Manu Tuketuke
Community Voice
Strengthening Systems to Support Young Parents
Uplifting Community Voice in Policy and Practice
At E Tipu E Rea, our Ngā Manu Tuketuke service champions the voices of mātua taiohi, hapū māmā and their whānau. Through wānanga (learning sessions), storytelling, submissions, and engagement with decision-makers, we challenge stigma and drive change in health, education, housing, and social care systems. We gather whānau voices to reshape policy and promote outcomes that centre wellbeing during the first 2,000 days of pēpi’s life.
Raising Community Voice
Elevates whānau experiences into the public and political spheres to drive meaningful change and awareness.
System Change Advocacy
Engages with local and national government to remove systemic barriers for young Māori parents.

Challenging Discrimination
Shares lived experiences to reduce stigma and promote equity across public services and media narratives.
Growing Rangatira (Leaders)
Builds leadership, confidence and networks so whānau can thrive within their whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori (communities).
Our Support Process
At E Tipu E Rea, we initiate support with a straightforward three-step process:
Initial Contact
The journey begins when you fill out our form or contact us. This first step is crucial in opening the doors to assistance and understanding.
Triage & Assessment
Each enquiry is carefully triaged to understand the unique needs of the whānau. This ensures that the support provided is tailored and effective.
Personalised Planning
A dedicated Kaiāwhina is assigned to whānau, who will arrange a first visit for whanaungatanga. Whanaungatanga is the cornerstone of our ongoing support and will help us plan for the support we give you.
Supporting Whānau with a focus on the crucial first 2,000 days of parenting.
We are dedicated to supporting young parents, their pēpi, hapū māmā, and the wider whānau to plan for their own growth and leadership development. Our tautoko includes, employment and housing, events, leadership wānanga and other opportunities, counselling, social support, hauora services for pēpi and parents (Immunisations and Well Child Tamariki Ora), midwifery, and connection to Mātauranga Māori; including mobile Māori play, rongoā and tūpuna parenting.

Join the Movement: Amplify your voice through Ngā Manu Tuketuke and be part of creating change for mātua taiohi and their pēpi.
